Of the different lesions caused by Filaria baiicrofti in man, filarial lymphangitis is the most common, and unfortunately the most troublesome affection. The actual mechanism by which filarial lymphangitis is brought about not hitherto been clearly understood. The authors have been engaged on a detailed study of the ;etiology of lymphatic obstruction in fi'ariasis during the past two years, both by a ?study of post-mortem material, and also from clinical experience with a large series of cases.
